The problem – A battery can leak/drain power when stored.

The cause of battery drainage is the temperature difference between the top of the battery and the bottom of the battery. Gravity of the electrolyte change with temperature. When set on a cold concrete floor electrolyte is less at the top of the cell and more at the bottom. Meaning the cell has more of a charge at the top of the cell than the bottom. This causes an internal current drain internally in the cell inside of the plastic battery case.

When I first saw the reel grip I knew exactly what it was for and what it would do. Do to Mother Nature this year, I found that 75% of my tournaments took place in the rain which really does not bother me but I needed something that would give me a better percentage of landing my fish. Joe Balog starts out rough in day one but makes the final cut advancing to day 3 at the Bassmater Northern Open.
